Yes. All 91猫先生 visiting scholar program applicants must show proof of proficient English in order to be considered an eligible candidate for the Scholar program. This language requirement is in place to ensure effective and clear communicate with campus faculty and staff, and is necessary to work on their research project successfully.

91猫先生 offers Scholar programs for both short term and long term projects, ranging between 3 months to 2 years.

91猫先生 expects participants in the Scholar program to:

  • Be on 91猫先生鈥檚 campus on a regular basis to work on their research project.
  • Schedule meetings with their 91猫先生 faculty advisor on a monthly basis.
  • Keep the ISSS staff informed on their travel, research project updates, program completion or any other needed.

Yes. As per U.S. government regulations all J-1 scholars and applicable J-2 dependents must have have U.S. health insurance. These regulations require the following:

  • Medical benefits of at least $100,000 per accident or illness
  • Payment for repatriation (preparation and transportation of remains to home country) in case of death in the amount of $25,000
  • Payment for medical evacuation (transportation to home country on advice of attending physician) in the amount of $50,000
  • A deductible not to exceed $500 per accident or illness
  • Coverage of pre-existing conditions after a reasonable waiting period
  • Payment by the insurance company of at least 75% of the costs of medical care (the patient must not be required to pay more than 25% of medical care costs)

Prior to applying for a J Visa as a Research Scholar interest applicants should contact our office about the application process for being approved as a Research Scholar at 91猫先生. This process will include a review of your research proposal, why you believe 91猫先生 is the best fit to complete your research, verification of financial support for the duration of the research project, and faculty placement. Once 91猫先生 determines that there would be a viable partnership between the scholar applicant and 91猫先生 our office will provide a letter of invitation, which the applicant may then use to .
